Safety & Standards

Certifications and compliance

Alusky profiles are tested in an accredited laboratory and comply with European structural load standards.

EN
EN 1991-1-1 — Eurocode 1
Actions on structures: self-weight, permanent and variable loads. Defines linear loads for balustrades by occupancy category (A: residential, B: office, C: public assembly, D: commercial). Alusky profiles are tested for categories A through D.
DIN
DIN 18065 — Stairs, balconies and balustrades
German standard for stairs, balconies and guardrails. Defines minimum balustrade heights and load resistance requirements by occupancy type. Particularly relevant for projects in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.
UNI
UNI 11678 — Glass in balustrades
Italian standard for the use of glass in balustrade applications. Defines safety requirements, permitted glass types (laminated, heat-strengthened laminated) and required structural verifications based on applied load and balustrade height.
LAB
Accredited laboratory test reports
Every Alusky system undergoes independent testing simulating distributed linear load (1, 2, 3 and 4 kN/m), post-load residual deformation and repeated cyclic load behaviour. Full reports are available in the Download Area.
Our approach

Tested. Certified. Specifiable.

Laboratory reports document real-world performance in terms of distributed linear load, residual deformation and behaviour under cyclic load. Specifiers can include our profiles with the certainty that the values are verifiable at inspection.
